I am finally getting back to a hobby of mine that I LOVE. Designing. When things get hectic or busy, it is the first thing to go, which is crazy considering it helps pay the bills. (Can’t think of a good segway sooooo..) PEACHES! They are my favorite fruit. There is just something about biting in to a peach in the middle of summer that reminds me of home.
Enter funny story about peaches.
Let’s just say my first two weeks as a freshman in college (a whopping 1.5 hours away from my parents) were not ideal. I was in a dorm with girls that were all about that party lifestyle. I was not. I hadn’t found my church or my group of friends, so my day consisted of going to class. Eating lunch by myself. Getting back to the dorm at four in the afternoon and staying there until 8pm when I would fall asleep. College life. Party Animal. This girl.
The reality of it was I was simply homesick and shy and out of my element. SOOOOO I decided to pick myself up, go to the store, get a peach and regroup. I even remember calling my mom telling her the plan. PEACHES FIX EVERYTHING.
ALABAMA PEACHES RUIN EVERYTHING. This peach was not sweet, it was not fuzzy, it was not even orange. It was by far the grossest thing I’ve ever eaten and YES. I am being dramatic.
Start the waterworks. I called my mom, cried about how everything in Alabama is the WORST. From their lack of street signs, to their fuzzless peaches, the bonafied worst. That is when my mom informed me, I had not bitten into a peach, but rather a nectarine. Alabama nectarines are the worst. Their peaches are fine.
